RALLIES have continued in the city and in the forest coupes of Sylvia Creek as protesters vow to stay united in their stance against logging by VicForests.

FOR the past two winters, Friends of Leadbeater's Possum volunteers have skied and snow-shuffled their way across the Lake Mountain plateau above Marysville twice a week to feed the endangered possums.

More than 50 people have staged a protest against logging in a forest north-east of Melbourne.
The group is calling on the Government to take action to stop logging in the Sylvia Creek Forest near Toolangi, which it says is home to the endangered leadbeater possum.
The Wilderness Society's Luke Chamberlain says clear-felling has been underway in the area for the past five weeks, but forestry workers are not at the site today.
He says the community is strongly opposed to the logging.

Environment groups are seeking a Supreme Court injunction against the logging of bushland near Sylvia Creek, near Toolangi.
The State Government-owned timber company, VicForests, has begun logging parts of the forest.
